Are all these alarmist, hyperbole-filled news reports succeeding in scaring me? Yes. Yes, they are.
I've spent the last several days trying to get rid of food, not acquire any more; so in the event of an evacuation I was prepared to eat lots and lots of tuna and a couple cans of tomato sauce. But I caved and headed to the store for batteries for my old boombox, and in the process also bought way too much bottled water, some canned fruit and a box of White Cheddar Cheez-Its. I am ready.
